Principal-Level Delivery, 20% Below Offshore Senior Rates.
Eighteen years inside contact center operations, analytics and telephony — priced without the agency layer. Every rate and package below is benchmarked against published 2026 rates for senior offshore engineers and architects delivering equivalent work, then set 20% lower. Not a team rate: one named practitioner, working directly on your problem, for less than the market pays for a shared senior resource.
Four Ways to Work Together

What You’re Actually Comparing
Two things decide what an engagement costs: where the work is delivered from, and what you actually get for the hour. ShifAIGen delivers remotely from India, so the rate is benchmarked offshore — but what the hour buys is the senior end of that market, not the staffing end. Here is the whole landscape, including the parts where we are not the cheapest option.
| Delivery model | Typical rate | Who actually does the work | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Offshore agency / staff augmentationIndia, Philippines, Eastern Europe | $25–60/hr | A rotating team. Junior-to-mid engineers under an account manager, with vendor margin taken off the top. | Cheapest entry point. You manage the vendor, absorb ramp-up on every rotation, and rarely get domain depth. |
| ShifAIGenIndependent principal consultant, direct | $36–52/hr | One named practitioner, 18+ years. The person in the scoping call is the person writing the DAX and reading the dialer logs. | No team to scale into. Capacity is finite and deliberately so. |
| Offshore senior / architect via a firmNamed senior, still through a vendor | $40–65/hr | A senior engineer, allocated part-time across several accounts. | Comparable depth, but shared attention, and the firm sets priorities rather than you. |
| Blended deliveryUS or EU lead over an offshore team | $70–120/hr | One senior architect directing several junior engineers. | Good for large build-outs. Overhead is wasted on a focused analytics problem. |
| US independent consultantSolo specialist, equivalent seniority | $150–250/hr | One named practitioner, same delivery model as ShifAIGen. | Same product, onshore cost base, onshore rate. |
| US boutique or large consultancyFirm engagement | $150–450/hr | A partner sells it; associates deliver it. | Brand assurance and bench depth, at the highest cost and the least continuity. |
Why benchmark offshore at all?
Because that is where the work is delivered from, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. The cost base is Indian, so the rate is set against Indian senior-engineer rates rather than against a US consultant’s. What is not offshore-standard is the delivery model — no account manager, no junior hand-off, no bench rotation, no vendor margin.
What you get for the hour
Eighteen years of hands-on contact center work — Five9 and CCaaS administration, dialer and campaign optimization, enterprise Power BI, and the data engineering underneath it — in one practitioner who has seen these failure patterns before. The trade-off is capacity, not seniority: this is a specialist practice with finite availability, so engagements are taken on where the problem fits the expertise.
What about time zones?
Delivery is remote-first from India with meetings inside agreed core hours, giving reliable daily overlap with US and European working days. After-hours cover for production incidents is available at the urgent rate.
Hourly Rates
The more you commit, the lower the effective rate. Every rate here sits 20% under the published rate for a senior offshore engineer or architect doing the same class of work — see the delivery model comparison for how that stacks against agency, blended and onshore pricing.

Representative Engagements
Four patterns that come up again and again across 18+ years of contact center work — the problem as it actually presents, the approach that resolves it, and the class of outcome to expect. Anonymised and composited by design: no client, platform tenant or result is identified.
01 Conflicting numbers in the leadership meeting Analytics
The problem. Operations, finance and the vendor’s reporting each produce a different figure for the same week, so meetings are spent arguing about whose number is right.
The approach. Inventory every measure in use, document the conflicting definitions side by side, agree one definition per measure with each stakeholder group, then implement it once, centrally, and reconcile against the platform.
The outcome. One agreed set of numbers, each with a written definition and a named owner.
- Typical path: Health Check → KPI Governance Framework
- Typical duration: 5–6 weeks end to end
02 Connect rate fell and nobody can say why Telephony
The problem. Outbound performance drops. List quality, pacing, agent behaviour and the carrier are blamed in turn, and several changes get made at once so nothing can be attributed afterwards.
The approach. Segment before comparing — campaign, list source, ANI group, destination, hour. Read PDD, ACD and ASR together to separate routing effects from list and configuration effects, then change one variable inside a defined measurement window.
The outcome. The actual cause isolated and evidenced, plus monitoring that turns the next occurrence into an alert rather than an investigation.
- Typical path: Telephony Diagnostic → Five9 / CCaaS Optimization
- Typical duration: 6–8 weeks end to end
03 The dashboard nobody opens any more Business Intelligence
The problem. Reports render slowly, refreshes overrun into business hours, and the same measure is written differently across a dozen reports — some of them wrong.
The approach. Diagnose at the model level, not the visual level: rebuild as a star schema across call, interval and agent-state facts, replace duplicated logic with one reusable measure library, and configure incremental refresh with verified query folding.
The outcome. Fast, governed reporting, with before/after timings recorded rather than asserted.
- Typical path: Power BI Audit → Contact Center Power BI Build
- Typical duration: 7–9 weeks end to end
04 Analysts producing reports instead of reading them AI & Automation
The problem. Most of the analytics team’s week goes on generating recurring reports by hand, and only a small sample of calls is ever reviewed for quality.
The approach. Rank automation candidates by hours recovered, automate report generation, distribution and variance commentary first, then apply AI to call analysis and dispositioning — benchmarked against a human-labelled sample before anyone relies on it.
The outcome. Analyst time shifts from production to interpretation, and quality coverage extends well beyond manual review.
- Typical path: AI Opportunity Assessment → Automated Reporting → AI Call Intelligence Pilot
- Typical duration: 10–13 weeks end to end
How Billing Works
Invoicing
Retainers invoice monthly in advance. Project work invoices at agreed milestones. Hourly work invoices monthly in arrears against a time log you can audit.
Payment terms
Net 14 from invoice date. ACH, wire or international transfer. All amounts in USD, exclusive of any applicable taxes or withholding.
Rate protection
Your rate is fixed for the full duration of your engagement term — and for the whole minimum term of any retainer — then subject to annual review. Existing engagements are never repriced mid-term, and any change is notified at least 60 days in advance.
Scope changes
Anything beyond the agreed scope is estimated in writing and approved before work begins. No surprise line items on an invoice.
Expenses
Delivery is remote-first, so there are usually none. Any pre-approved out-of-pocket costs are billed at cost with receipts attached.
Exiting
Retainers require 30 days’ notice after the minimum term. Documentation and handover are part of delivery, so you are never locked in by ignorance.
Before you enquire
If your question is not here, ask it directly — you will get a straight answer rather than a discovery call.
How can the rate be this low for principal-level work?
Delivery is from India, so the cost base is an Indian cost base and the rate is benchmarked against Indian senior-engineer and architect rates rather than US ones. On top of that there is no account manager, no bench, no sales layer and no vendor margin to fund — so the rate sits 20% below what a firm charges for a named senior resource. What you are buying is not a cheaper version of the work; it is the same work without the overhead that normally sits on top of it.
Does a low rate mean junior delivery?
No. Every hour is delivered by one named practitioner with 18+ years across contact center operations, Power BI and automation — there is no junior tier, no trainee shadowing the account, and nothing handed off. The rate reflects the cost base and the absence of agency overhead, not the level of the person doing the work. Independent practice also removes the utilisation targets that push firms to staff a problem with whoever is free rather than whoever knows it.
Will the rate go up later?
Possibly, at annual review. What will not happen is a mid-term increase: your rate is fixed for the duration of your engagement term and for the whole minimum term of any retainer, and any change afterwards is notified at least 60 days in advance.
Can I start small?
That is what the two-week diagnostics are for. They are fixed-price, produce a written deliverable you keep regardless, and the fee is credited against any project that starts within 60 days. If the finding is that you do not need a project, you will be told that.
What if my project does not fit a package?
Most do not exactly. Packages are a starting shape. Anything custom gets a written scope with assumptions, dependencies and a fixed price or a capped estimate before any work begins.
Do you work with our existing team or replace them?
Work with them, in almost every case. Documentation and knowledge transfer are built into delivery rather than bolted on at the end — the objective is an internal team that can maintain and extend what gets built.
What time zones do you cover?
Delivery is remote-first from India with meetings scheduled inside agreed core hours, so there is reliable daily overlap with US and European working days. After-hours and weekend work for production incidents is available at the urgent rate.
Is there a minimum commitment?
Advisory has a four-hour minimum. Retainers run three months minimum, then month to month on 30 days’ notice. Fractional leadership runs six months minimum. Fixed-scope packages have no ongoing commitment at all.
Not sure which one fits?
Tell us what you’re trying to solve and roughly what scale you operate at. We’ll recommend the smallest engagement that would actually answer it — including telling you if that is none of them.
